Field Day is here again! Saturday, June 1, 2019 starting at 10 AM, come early to register 9:30 AM. This is a free event for the whole family sponsored by Lorain County Beekeepers Association and Queen Right Colonies. Come, bring a friend and don’t forget your veil. Parking will be available in the west field or at the QRC blue warehouse west of the farm and walk to the event.

Guest Speaker: Albert Roberston
Topic: “The Saskatraz Honey Bee Breeding Project”
Dr. Robertson, a Saskatchewan beekeeper since 1975, specializing in commercial honey production and queen breeding. He operates a mixed family farm operation involved in grain production, pedigree seed and pure bred cattle. Dr. Robertson established the Saskatraz honey bee breeding program in 2004. He received a BSc and MSc from the University of Saskatchewan and a PhD from the U. of S. and University of Alberta. He spent 30 years doing research in molecular genetics and biology at U. of S. (Biology Deptartment and Crop Development Center), and is currently president of Meadow Ridge Enterprises LTD.
