Welcome from the St. Clair Family
For many years now we have looked forward to spring approaching and the arrival of package bees. We have always had a fondness and appreciation for nature. Beekeeping as you can see is at the top of our list. In 1995 we opened a very small, emphasis on small, sideline business in an old (dusty) grain bin in Spencer Ohio, hoping to support our own hobby and enjoy the friendships we would make. This year we are celebrating 25 years, and thanks to all of our loyal customers over the years, we have continued to grow. Fortunately we are no longer in the old (dusty) grain bin and our customer contact list has grown far beyond what we ever thought possible. Even though we now have the largest showroom and warehouse of beekeeping supplies, in the state, it’s just never big enough.
Teaching classes, supporting local groups, tours, fairs, and conferences are just a few of the ways in which we endeavor to educate the community year round. Our commitment to our customers, their needs, and furthering education in beekeeping has always been most important. There is a great awareness today, that the protection of the honeybee is vital. It is our goal to help everyone interested in this phenomenal hobby, to keep bees in the healthiest, nontoxic environment possible, through all natural methods.
We cannot say enough about all the local and state organizations across the country for their volunteer spirit in the desire to educate the public on the need for honeybees. Ohio is home to some of the greatest. “Richard Taylor said it best, “If you want to learn about beekeeping, you have to go to Ohio to do it.” Ohio is also the home of the Tri-County workshop, the largest in the United States; the A.I. Root Company; Bee Culture magazine and, of course, Queen Right Colonies! Can it get any better than this?
Our invitation always stands. Come out to the farm; enjoy the atmosphere and our apiary; take in the sights and surround yourself with nature, up close and personal. You and your family have an open invitation.
